DUSHANBE, October 7, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Six persons were killed and at least four others were injured in eastern Tajikistan on October 6 as all-terrain vehicle (ATV) Ssang Yong Rexton fell into precipice.
According to the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate, the accident took place Thursday afternoon on the 161st kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Jirgatol district.
“The driver apparently could not control his vehicle and it fell into precipice,” said the source, “Six persons, including two minors, died on the spot, while four other persons sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital.”
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
