DUSHANBE, October 17, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Turkish capital’s mayor’s has invited Dushanbe mayor to visit Ankara.
This issue was discussed at a meeting of Tajik Ambassador to Turkey Farrukh Sharipov with Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek that took place in Ankara at the end of last week, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed a broad range of issue related to mutually beneficial cooperation between Ankara and Dushanbe in the framework of the Dushanbe-Ankara sister cities declaration and the agreement between mayor’s offices of the capital cities of Tajikistan and Turkey on economic, trade, scientific and cultural cooperation of December 11, 2003.
They also discussed construction of the Dushanbe-Ankara Friendship Park in Dushanbe, organization of a meeting with participation of business communities of the two cities, opening of social and cultural center as well as joint enterprises.
Mr. Melih Gokcek expressed gratitude to the Tajik Government for supporting candidacy of Ankara for hosting EXPO 2020, the source said.
