KHUJAND, November 9, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A special operation carried out by officers from the Sughd police directorate in the city of Chkalovsk from October 25 to November 3 led to the seizure of nearly 39 kilograms of narcotics.
“An officer from the Sughd police directorate posed as a buyer and on October 25, drug pusher, B.M., 45, handed over to him nine packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing more than 5 kilogram,” said the source, “On October 26, the drug pusher handed over nearly 11 kilograms of hashish to him and on November 3, he handed over 42 packages containing 22.718 kilograms of hashish to the plainclothes officer who acted as a drug buyer.”
The drug pusher was arrested after the third deal and criminal proceedings were instituted against him under the provisions of Article 200 (4) – drug trafficking; an investigation is under way, the source added.
According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Sughd province, local law enforcement authorities have seized more than 531 kilograms of narcotics, with 131 kilograms of them being heroin, over the first ten months of this year.
