QURGHON TEPPA, November 11, 2011, Asia-Plus -- 200 new cases of HIV-infection have been registered in Khatlon province over the first ten months of this year, bringing the total number of the officially registered HIV sufferers in the area to 741, Davron Qunghurotov, the director of the Khatlon Regional AIDS Center, told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, 547 of the HIV sufferers registered in the province are men and 194 others are women; there are 15 minors among the officially registered HIV sufferers in Khatlon.
“The largest number of people living with HIV has been registered in the city of Kulob – 281 people,” Qunghurotov said, noting that 217 of them were undergoing treatment.
