QURGHON TEPPA, November 19, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- As a result of the raid made by specialists from the Qurghon Teppa power supply network on local electricity consumers on November 18, electricity defaulters were fined a total of more than 20,000 somoni (TJS), Sherali Shirinbekov, the deputy chairman of the Qurghon Teppa power supply network, said.

According to him, they revealed illegal power transmission lines during the raid on a number of shops, sewing and bread-baking workshops, drugstores and separate residential customers.  “All violators have been fined,” Shirinbekov noted.

“Such raids are being made practically every day,” said Shirinbekov.  “The Qurghon Teppa electricity debts have risen 2.4 million somoni in ten months to November 1, 2011, reaching 14 million somoni; residential customers now owe 11 million somoni to the Qurghon Teppa power supply network.”

Over the first ten months of this year, the Qurghon Teppa power supply network has reportedly supplied electricity to local consumers for a total amount of 10.7 million somoni, while the rate of the collection of funds from the public and enterprises was 76 percent (7.7 million somoni).  The main electricity defaulters are residential customers and federally funded organizations, Shirinbekov added.
