DUSHANBE, November 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Female teacher from high school in the Vose district, Khatlon province has been arrested on suspicion of having involved in drug pushing.
Mansour Bukhoriyev, the head of the Interior Ministry directorate for combating drug trafficking (drug police), says Ms. B.Z., 37, a teacher at one of rural schools in the Vose district, was arrested on November 25 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. Some three kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from her.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against B.Z. and an investigation is under way.
Since the beginning of the year, all sub-divisions of the Interior Ministry have reportedly seized more than 1,800 kilograms of narcotics.
