DUSHANBE, December 14, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday December 13, the Islamic Revival Party leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also deputy of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, met here with Belgian Ambassador to Tajikistan Daniel Bertoni.
According to IRP’s headquarters in Dushanbe, the situation in Tajikistan, the region and Afghanistan after supposed withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan in 2014 was the focus of the meeting.
Kabiri assessed the current situation in Tajikistan as stable and stressed that problems arising in Tajik society are solvable and the Islamic Revival Party has been taking efforts to establish mutual understanding in the society, the source said.
The Belgian diplomat, for his part, reportedly noted that though his country did not have ambitious economic plans in Central Asia it was interested in the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
