DUSHANBE, December 15, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Twenty-five small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 7 megawatt have been introduced into operation in Tajikistan this year, according to the Ministry Of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source at a MoEI says construction of 13 other small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 3,434 kW is under way.
262 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 23 megawatt have reportedly been in the country over the past twenty years (1991-2011).
We will recall that under the national long-term program of construction of small power plants, 189 small hydropower plants are scheduled to be built in the country between 2009 and 2020.
