DUSHANBE, December 23, 2011, Asia-Plus – The project aiming to promote development of parliament’s capacity to scrutinize state finances is being presented at the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) today.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the project provides for involving MPs “in all process of development of a draft national budget, establishing parliament’s control over targeted use of the budgetary funds and ensuring the transparent implementation of the budget.”
The project has reportedly been worked out by the Secretariat that was set up at the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Budget and Finance in September this year.
