DUSHANBE, December 28, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Deposits kept at banks in Tajikistan rose 28 percent in a year to November 30, 2011, reaching 4.134 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 870 million U.S. dollars), according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
The source at Tajik central bank says deposits of legal entities account for 47.1 percent (1.946 billion somoni) of the overall volume of deposits kept at Tajik banks and deposits of physical entities account for 52.9 percent (2.188 billion somoni).
Weighted average interest rate for the local currency deposits is 15.66 percent and weighted average interest rate for the foreign currency deposits is 14.76 percent, the source added.
