DUSHANBE, January 9, 2012, Asia-Plus -- More than eight kilograms of raw opium have been intercepted in Dushanbe.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), police officer found eight packages containing more than 8 kilograms of raw opium hidden in a car of M.P. on January 8.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pusher and an investigation is under way, the source at a MoI said.
Tajik police officers reportedly intercepted some 1,900 kilograms of narcotics last year. A totaled included 131.5 kilograms of raw opium, 236.5 kilograms of heroin and some 1,532 kilograms of cannabis.
