DUSHANBE, January 9, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- The newly appointed Minister of Interiors Ramazon Rahimov has inspected police stations in Dushanbe and Khatlon province.

The Interior Ministry press center reports that since Ramazon Rahimov was appointed to that position recently many police officers do not know him by sight.  “Dressed in civilian clothing, Ramazon Rahimov have applied to police stations in Dushanbe and Khatlon province as ordinary citizen,” said the source.  “The minister has also inspected the traffic police checkpoints in Khatlon province.”

Numerous shortcomings have reportedly been revealed; several police officers have been implicated in wrongdoing and disciplinary action has been imposed upon them.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon on January 5 named Ramazon Rahimov to be the new interior minister and moved his predecessor in the post, Abdurahim Qahhorov, over to the position of Security Council secretary.
