According to the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision, these data are based on applications for medical aid, doctors’ rounds of households and registration of births and deaths in jamoats. “Therefore, the statistical error is 3 or 4 percent,” the source said.
Children under the age of 14 constitute more than 30 percent of the population – 372,192 people. 56,048 people above the age of 65 now live in the region.
The population of the city of Kulob is estimated at 90,357.
