DUSHANBE, January 30, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Sughd province have seized a large amount of cannabis in one operation.
According to the DCA press center, two residents of Khujand were detained on January 28 on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing.
“More than two kilograms of cannabis were confiscated from them,” said the source. “The preliminary investigation has established that they purchased the narcotics from a resident of the Asht district. When searching his house, the drug control officers found some 4 kilograms of cannabis.”
The DCA investigation department has instituted criminal proceedings against the detained three drug pushers and an investigation is under way.
