DUSHANBE, February 6, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Plowing lands for the spring sowing campaign is going on in Tajikistan despite unusually cold weather, an official source at the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) said.
According to him, some 620,000 hectares have been allocated to cultivation of crops during the spring sowing campaign. “To-date, farmers have plowed more than 415,000 ha, which is more than 65 percent,” the source said.
Some 180,000 hectares have been allocated to cultivation of grains and 210,000 hectares have been allocated to cotton cultivation (6,000 hectares more than in 2011).
