DUSHANBE, February 10, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), is attending the 25th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Iran, IRP’s head office in Dushanbe said.
Iranian media sources report the event that kicked off on February 8 and is concluding on February 10 has brought together some 271 scholars and thinkers from 50 countries
The conference reportedly aims to prepare ground for consolidation of unity and solidarity among the Islamic nations and finding solutions to the problems facing the world of Islam.
Russia, France, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Sudan, the United States, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Britain, Denmark, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, Turkey, Afghanistan, the UAE, Gambia, Senegal and Yemen are among the participating countries.
Meanwhile, a source at IRP’s head office says that Muhiddin Kabiri is also scheduled to meet with a group of Tajik students studying at higher educational institutions in Iran.
