DUSHANBE, February 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- An exercise to practice man-made disaster relief is being held in Dushanbe from February 14 to February 17, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan.
The CES spokesman Orif Nizomov says the exercise, involving senior representatives from the Dushanbe mayor’s office and heads of Dushanbe’s district, is conducted in two phases.
The first phase (February 14-15) includes studying theoretical issues of providing assistance to the population in case of the man-made disaster.
During the second phase (February 16-17), senior representatives from local authorities jointly with specialists from the Committee for Emergency Situations will practice the man-made disaster relief.
Similar anthropogenic disaster relief exercises will be conducted for regional administrators as well, Nizomov added.
