DUSHANBE, February 15, 2012, Asia-Plus -- In Tajikistan, inflation for January 2012 stood at 0.4 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Prices for products of food industry reportedly fell 0.1 percent last month and non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 4.0 percent over the report period. Prices and rates for services rendered to the population rose 2.7 percent in January 2012.
We will recall that in a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Ms. Malohat Kholiqzoda, the deputy chairperson of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), noted on January 19 that the government expects the year-end inflation to stand at 10.5 percent in 2012.
