KULOB, February 20, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- The branch of Technological University of Tajikistan in Kulob has launched its own industrial park, where confectioners, textile workers and jewelers will put their theoretical knowledge into practice, Almossho Shoyev, the head of the economic development and innovation department of Tajik Technological University’s branch in Kulob, told Asia-Plus Monday afternoon.

According to him, the industrial park is provided with all necessary equipment and stock (devices, engineering tools, etc).

Established in 2002, the branch of Technological University of Tajikistan in Kulob now has more than 1,300 students.  The branch also has the Tajik-Russian faculty.    

An industrial park (also known as industrial estate, trading estate) is an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development.  A more "lightweight" version is the business park or office park, which has offices and light industry, rather than heavy industry.

Industrial parks are usually located outside the main residential area of a city and normally provided with good transportation access, including road and rail.  Industrial parks are usually located close to transport facilities, especially where more than one transport modes coincide: highways, railroads, airports, and ports.
