DUSHANBE, February 21, 2012, Asia-Plus -- On Monday February 20, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, received Tajik Ambassador to Qatar with residence in Islamabad Zubaydullo Zubaydov, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
Tajik diplomat conveyed to the Emir an invitation from Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani accepted the invitation and noted that Tajikistan was an important partner for his country in the Central Asian region.
In the course of the talks, the sides also discussed issues related to preparations for the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation on Afghanistan (RECCA V) that will take place in Dushanbe from March 26-27. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani reportedly noted that The Qatari high-ranking delegation will attend the conference.
The Emir of Qatar stressed that his country was ready assist Tajikistan with attraction of investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy and opening of an air communication between Dushanbe and Doha, the source added.
