KULOB, February 25, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- Kulob Public Council that has not worked for five years is expected to resume its work under a new name.

Dodarbek Saydaliyev, the director of the Shahrvand Civil Society Support Center, says the Kulob Public Council was established eleven years ago as a center for coordination of activities of local governmental, non-governmental ad commercial organizations.

“Over the past five years, the Kulob Public Council has not worked for some reason or other,” said Saydaliyev, “New Kulob Mayor Abdughaffor Rahmonov has supported an idea to resume activity of the Kulob Public Council and he has promised support of the municipal government.”

Saydaliyev added that the Kulob Public Council will be transformed into the Council for Development of Kulob.
