KHUJAND, March 29, 2012, Asia-Plus -- The Khujand-based textile and clothing company, Textile City, has received a new contract from Moscow.
The company director general Nasim Karimov says Textile City has signed a US$500,000 contract with the Moscow-based company, Jeansmakers. “Under this contract, Textile City will supply men’s cotton shirts and trousers to Moscow,” Karimov said, noting that the first consignment will be sent to Moscow on April 10.
It is the second contract with Moscow firs since last year. Last September, Textile City signed US$ 1 million contract with the Moscow firm, Shveypromservis.
Textile City reportedly supplies cotton clothes to Russia under the trademarks of IOTA and PROTO.
Joint-stock company (JSC) Abreshim now assumes the 100% ownership interest in Textile City. The enterprise is engaged in deep processing of cotton fiber and sewing cotton clothing. Some 400 people now work for Textile City at an average monthly wage of 430 somoni.
