DUSHANBE, March 30, 2012, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan and China have reportedly agreed on setting up a plant-breeding practical center in Tajikistan.
This issue was discussed here today at a meeting of Tajik First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Yusuf Sultonnoyobov, with representatives of China’s Ministry of Agriculture, a source at the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) said.
In the course of the talks, Sultonnoyobov reportedly appreciated China’s support for enhancement of Tajikistan’s agrarian sector and training of Tajik agrarians.
“For their part, representatives of China’s Ministry of Agriculture have highly appraised the level of cooperation between specialists of the two countries in studying farm products,” said the source. “The guests noted that China will provide assistance to Tajikistan in the future as well through providing new technologies for processing farm products, providing spare parts for agricultural machines and training personnel.”
A working group has been set up to find place for establishment of the plant-breeding practical center, the source added.
