KULOB, July 20, 2012, Asia-Plus -- 20 assault rifles Kalashnikov have been confiscated in ten districts of the Kulob region in Khatlon province over the first six months of this year, Abduvahov Iskandarov, deputy chief of the Khatlon police directorate in charge of the Kulob region, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“Besides, 29 Makarov pistols, four disposable grenade launcher Mukha, 17 carbines, 15 hunting guns and 24 bayonets have been confiscated or voluntarily handed over to police stations across the region over the report period,” Iskandarov said.
According to him, 579 crimes have been reported in the area over the same six-month period; 94.4 percent of them have already been solved.
