DUSHANBE, August 16, 2012, Asia-Plus -- In Tajikistan, inflation for January-July this year stood at 2.9 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Prices for products of food industry have remained unchanged as compared to January-July of 2011, while non-foodstuffs have risen in cost by 4.1 percent in seven months to August 1, 2012. Prices and rates for services rendered to the population have risen 13.0 percent in January-July this year.
We will recall that in a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Ms. Malohat Kholiqzoda, the deputy chairperson of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), noted on January 19 that the government expects the year-end inflation to stand at 10.5 percent in 2012.
