DUSHANBE, October 29, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- Issues related to establishment and expansion of bilateral cooperation on border control between Tajikistan and China have been discussed in Dushanbe.

These issues were reportedly raised at a meeting of Lieutenant-General Sheralisho Mirzo, Head of the Border Guard Administration within the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Tajikistan with Chzho Shu-Kui (phonetically spelled), Deputy Chief of PAP Border Security Forces, the People’s Armed Police (PAP) within the Ministry of Pubic Security of China that took place here on October 29.

Khoushnoud Rahmatulloyev, a spokesman for Tajikistan’s Main Border Guard Administration, says the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to border control cooperation, exchange of information as well as combating illegal migration, drug trafficking and terrorism.

While in Dushanbe, the Chinese delegation also visited the training center of Tajik border troops and the Higher Border Officers’ Training School of Tajikistan.

The sides are expected to sign a protocol on cooperation between the boarder guard administrations of the two countries tomorrow, the spokesman said.
