DUSHANBE, October 31, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A new plastic profile production enterprise, Sughdplast, has been introduced into operation in the Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province.
An official ceremony of opening of the enterprise that took place on Tuesday was attended by Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali.
An official source at the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) says the state-of-the art technological lines from Germany and Austria have been installed at the enterprise with annual capacity of 4,000 tons of plastic profiles.
The raw materials (polyvinylchloride or PVC) will also be imported from these countries, the source added.
A total cost of the project is 2 million U.S. dollars and 1.9 million U.S. dollars of this amount has been spent for purchase of the technological lines.
Sughdplast has reportedly created 50 new jobs.
14 small and medium-sized enterprises for manufacturing plastic output have been launched in the country since 2005. These enterprises have produced plastic pipes of different diameters, plastic door and window profiles, packages, plastic dishes, etc.
According to the statistical data from a MoEI, these enterprises have produced a total of 41 million somoni worth of output over the first nine months of this year, which is 16.1 million somoni more than in the same period last year.
