DUSHANBE, January 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – In 2013, Tajikistan produced a total of 9.936 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to 2012 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 103.9 percent.
Processing industry reportedly accounted for 69.5 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced last year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water accounted for 19.3 percent and mining industry accounted for 11.2 percent.
Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 50 items (55.6 percent) increased, and the output of 28 items (31.1 percent) decreased in 2013. Twelve basic types of industrial products (13.3 percent) were not manufactured.
