DUSHANBE, November 4, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Over the first ten months of this year, Tajikistan has produced some 425,000 tons of potatoes, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).

An official source at a MoA says average potato yields over the report period stood at 23.4 tons per hectare, which was 1.3 tons more than in the same period last year.

This year, Tajik farmers have reportedly planted potatoes on 18,600 hectares and by November 1, they have yielded potatoes from little more than 18,000 hectares.

Last year, Tajikistan produced more than 1.115 million tons of potatoes, which was nearly 425,000 tons more than in 2012.
