A source within the Dushanbe administration says that by president’s decree Sharif Sami has been relieved of his post of Chairperson of Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni District for age reason.

Sharif Sami had served as Chairperson of Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni District since January 2017.

Prior to this, he had held a number of important positions such as head of Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan’s national power utility company), Mayor of Qurghon Teppa (currently Bokhtar), Head of the Directorate for the Roghun Dam’s Flooding Zone, etc.  

Ruslan Rajab, who had previously served as Deputy Chairperson of Dushanbe’s Sino District, was appointed acting Chairperson of Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni District.
