Fakhriddin Khakimov, a participant of the Voice of Russia and X-Factor Belarus, represents Tajikistan at the first Asian vocal competition, which will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan this month, Kazinform agency reports. The total audience of the project is expected to be over 1 billion viewers.
About Silk Way Star
Representatives of 12 countries are taking part in Silk Way Star – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and South Korea. Filming started on August 20 of this year.
The show consists of 10 episodes – 9 recorded and the final grand live show. The audience will see the performance of national hits, cross-cultural collaborations, as well as hear the personal stories of the performers.
The voting will be conducted according to the international system with an open score from 1 to 12. In the first nine episodes, the decisions are made by a professional jury from China and Central Asian countries. In the grand final, the winner is determined by a combination of votes: 50% from the jury and 50% from the audience.
At the selection stage, one participant will be eliminated in episodes 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. Only 7 artists will qualify for the finals: the top 5 according to the voting results and 2 representatives of the host countries.
The grand final will be held on November 22 in the format of a live show on Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV channel and on the leading TV channels of the participating countries. The broadcast is planned in Kazakh, Chinese and English.
The winner will be awarded the title of SILK WAY STAR and will have a chance to present their work on the world stage.
The Silk Way Star show is being implemented within the framework of the Agreement on the creation of the international Silk Way Star project between the Shopping mall of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Media Corporation of China CMG.

Kandis is a South Korean female R&B/neo-soul/hip-hop group, the authors of the album Playground;
Avtandil Abeslamidze – Georgia, winner of X Factor Georgia and Voice of Astana;
Dovran Shammyev – Turkmenistan, singer and composer, winner of the Altyn Asyr Award;
Michelle Joseph — Mongolia, author of the Dulaan Baina and Bundan Ulaan music videos;
Yazmin Aziz is a Malaysian, winner of international competitions, author of the Kita Rockstar anthem for Mobile Legends.
ALEM (Batyrkhan Malikov) is a Kazakhstani singer and composer, a member of the band Ninety One, a finalist of The Voice of Kazakhstan and a semifinalist of the X-Factor.
Who's on the jury?
The Silk Way Star jury is also represented by no less stellar artists. Honored Artist of the Republic of Tajikistan Parvina Shukurullayeva joined the delegation from Tajikistan.
Kazakh singer Zhanar Dugalova, Samira Efendi (Azerbaijan), Eva Rivas (Armenia), Aigul Nadirova (Uzbekistan), Shin Min Chol (South Korea) and others will judge the artists together with her.

For Fakhriddin, this is far from his first appearance on the big stage. In 2021, he became a finalist in the popular show "X-Factor" (the Belarusian version of the British project), in 2019 he reached the final of "Let's get it together!", and last year he took part in the TV project "The Voice".
Fakhriddin Khakimov wanted to become an Olympic champion, but he went into music. He is originally from the city of Istaravshan, and after school he moved to Russia. Since the age of 11, the guy has been interested in sports – first it was football, and then Greco-Roman wrestling. He discovered the world of music at the age of 22.
