DUSHANBE, April 28, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Chinese company, Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Company Limited (TBEA), will build a new CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plant in Dushanbe, Rashid Gulov, an official with Barqi Tojik power holding, told reporters on April 27.
According to him, a coal-powered CHP plant that is expected to produce 270MW of electricity daily will be constructed in the Luchob area.
“TBEA will construct the plant on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis,” said Gulov, “Once the CHP plant is built, all the revenue over the next 12 years will go to the investor and Tajikistan will become the owner of the CHP plant after this period expires.”
A total cost of the project is 200 million U.S. dollars and the first two lines will be introduced into operation by 2013, the Barqi Tojik official noted, adding that the plant will comply with modern environmental requirements.
