DUSHANBE, May 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Priorities of bilateral cooperation were the focus of a meeting of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) head Said Sharif with a delegation of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) that took place here on May 5, the CCI press center reports.
In the course of the talks, Sharif briefed Chinese guests on the investment climate in Tajikistan, legal foundation, tax, customs and banking systems of the country, noting that Tajik economic entities were interested in expansion of cooperation with China.
“Tajikistan is interested in using advanced technologies and experience of China for development of its economy, attracting foreign investments and promoting domestic competitive products in China’s market,” Sharif was quoted as saying.
The deputy head of the XUAR government, Nurlan Abdumanchin, for his part, noted that the Chinese government was interested in further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan.
He noted that the Chinese government would support projects of cooperation of Chinese entrepreneurs with their Tajik partners, including organization and holding of joint exhibitions. “He stressed that Chinese-Tajik economic ties have good prospects,” the source added.
The sides also discussed issues related to exhibition of XUAR industrial goods and Tajik-Chinese business forum that would be held in Dushanbe in late June this year as well as participation of Tajikistan in China-Eurasian Expo that would take place in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in September 2011.
