DUSHANBE, July 18, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) for January-June this year has amounted to 11.15852 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2.3 million U.S. dollars), according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
GDP structure by sources of income included: agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing – 12 percent; industry, including energy sector – 13.1 percent, construction – 7.6 percent, sale and repair of automobiles and home appliances and consume goods – 17 percent; transportation, communications and warehousing – 17.5 percent; real estate transactions and financing activity – 0.5 percent; public management and state compulsory insurance – 5.1 percent; education – 5.0 percent; health care and social services – 2.3 percent; public services as well as social and personal service – 3.7 percent; and taxes – 15.2 percent.
We will recall that the country’s GDP for 2010 was more than 24.704 billion somoni (more than US$5.6 billion at the exchange rate for early January 2011).
