DUSHANBE, July 30, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A Tajik-Canadian joint venture for production of storage batteries was launched in Dushanbe on July 29.

According to the press center of the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI), the joint venture has been established on the basis of the limited liability company, Interfur.  400,000 US dollars have reportedly been spent for the establishment of the enterprise and Canadian national and Tajik entrepreneur own 50 percent of shares in the enterprise each.

The enterprise with initial annual capacity of 15,000 storage batteries will produce a number of types of storage batteries for cars and trucks (SA-50, SA-75, SA-120, SA-140, and SA-150).  In the future, they plan to increase annual product the storage batteries to 45,000, the source said, noting that the enterprise has created 30 new jobs.
