DUSHANBE, January 11, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Technical issues related to participation of Tajikistan in Expo 2012 in South Korea were discussed here Tuesday at a meeting of Sharif Said, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Mr. Yo-Yo Ku (phonetically spelled), Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan, the CCI press center reports.
In the course of the talks, Said reportedly noted that holding of conferences with participation of representatives from the business communities of the two countries and organization of exhibitions and other joint activities would promote expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries.
Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea is an International Exposition recognized by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) to be held in Yeosu, South Korea from May 12 to August 12, 2012. The theme of the Expo is “The Living Ocean and Coast” with subthemes of “Preservation and Sustainable Development of the Ocean and Coast,” “New Resources Technology,” and “Creative Marine Activities.” The Yeosu Expo is anticipating participation of more than 100 countries and international organizations, and 8 million visitors.
