DUSHANBE, January 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- An overall space of some 830,000 square meters in residential buildings was made available during 2011, the Agency for Construction and Architecture under the Government of Tajikistan said.
During the past year, general educational schools to accommodate 25,000 and hospitals with a total of 246 beds were put into operation, and polyclinics that can handle totaling 604 visits per shift were introduced.
Construction works are currently being carried out in 30 cities and districts across the country in accordance with municipal redevelopment plans.
The source noted that the government last year endorsed the municipal redevelopment plans for the cities of Khorog and Qurghon Teppa and the administrative centers of the Tavildara and Roshtqala districts.
The Shahrofar (Town Planner) design institute is currently working out municipal redevelopment plans for the cities of Istaravshan, Sarband, Panjakent, Qairoqqum and Konibodom as well as the districts of Nov, Fayzobod, Shouroobod, Jomi, Rushan, Ishkashim, and Khovaling.
