DUSHANBE, February 22, 2012, Asia-Plus -- State and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were discussed here on February 21 at a meeting of Minister of Finance Safarali Najmididnov with Mr. Todd Schneider, the head of IMF mission, Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) reports.
The sides reportedly discussed issues related to administration of the budget, social spending, internal loans, measures to raise revenues, medium-term prospects and general policy.
In the course of the talks, Mr. Schneider shared his view on implementation of predictive control indicators of the macroeconomic and fiscal policies, the source said, noting that tax policy and measures taken to work out new tax code were also among major topics of the meeting.
The IMF mission arrived in Tajikistan on a two-week visit to conduct discussions for the last Sixth Review of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement.
