DUSHANBE, October 16, 2012 Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and Camera di Commercio Italo Russa (CCIR – Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce) have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
According to CCI press center, the document was signed by CCI head Sharif Said and senior representatives of CCIR in Milan, Italy.
The memorandum reportedly stipulates providing support for development of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Italy by means of collection and distribution of data on economic activities and economic development of both countries and holding of exhibitions and fairs, business meetings and exchange of business delegations.
Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce is a private organization representing public interests, not profit-seeking and registered in the Register of mixed and foreign chambers of commerce in Italy.
CCIR was established in 1964 as Italian-Soviet Chamber of Commerce due to initiative of some largest Italian entrepreneurs. This event was favorably met by business circles and Soviet institutes.
Camera di Commercio Italo Russa is of national character and the sole Italian institution which activity is focus on development of economical and commercial relations between Russia and Italy. Its role acknowledged by bilateral intergovernmental agreements is also to make Italian and Russian authorities more sensible in respect with entrepreneurial needs.
The CCIR members include large, medium and small size companies, financial organizations and some regional Italian and Russian chambers of commerce.
