DUSHANBE, January 14, 2013, Asia-Plus  -- Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov had a telephone conversation with Russian First Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov to discuss activities of the Tajik-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, according to the Secretariat of Tajik Prime Minister.

The sides reportedly also discussed considered related to preparation and signing of an agreement on duty-free Russian fuel deliveries to Tajikistan.

The agreement has reportedly been prepared with due regard to proposals made by both sides.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a short visit to Tajikistan on January 17 and the agreement on condition of delivery of Russian oil products to Tajikistan is expected to be signed during the visit.

We will recall that the document on easing some of the registration restrictions for Tajik migrant workers coming to Russia was signed by Safiallo Devonayev, head of the Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan, and Konstantin Romodanovsky, director of Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS), in Dushanbe on October 5, 2012.  Under this document, the period for registration for Tajik nationals on their arrival in Russia is extended from seven to fifteen days.  Besides, the term of work permit for Tajik nationals is extended up to three years.
