DUSHANBE, January 15, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Forty-five countries of the world provided more than 75.5 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan in 2012, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
More than 13,600 tons of wheat flour for some 7 million U.S. dollars, 658 tons of vegetable oil for more than one million U.S. dollars, US$34.7 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for more than 3 million U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances were delivered to the country last year.
Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 46.4 percent, Russia – 10.4 percent, China – 10.2 percent, and the Netherlands – 5.1 percent.
