DUSHANBE, March 19, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The State Unitary Enterprise Tojikcement (Dushanbe cement plant) has signed a loan contract with Chinese company, Beijing Uni-Construction Group Co. Ltd, for purchase and installation of coal-powered equipment.
According to the Ministry of energy and Industries (MoEI) press center, a total amount of the contract is 7.73 million U.S. dollars, including 150,000 U.S. dollars contributed by Tojikcement itself.
The project reportedly provides for replacement of the plant’s natural-gas-powered furnaces with the coal-powered ones.
The contract was concluded in Beijing on February 28 this year.
Tojikcement is Tajikistan’s largest cement plant with rate capacity of 1 million tons of cement per year. Last year, the plant produced 203,000 tons of cement.
Headquartered in Beijing, Beijing Uni-Construction Group Co. Ltd. is a state-owned construction company. This enterprise group is mainly engaged in realty development, construction and installation, and it is quite influential in the trade.
