DUSHANBE, May 10, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan is expected to begin producing emulsion explosives soon.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) Secretariat, the Isfara chemical plant in Sughd province will introduce a workshop for production emulsion explosives into operation in the near future.
To-date, they have reportedly installed 80 percent of the necessary equipment.
The 1.683 million somoni worth of technological line for production of emulsion explosives has been purchased in Russia.
Emulsion explosive is an explosive material containing substantial amounts of oxidizer dissolved in water droplets surrounded by an immiscible fuel or droplets of an immiscible fuel surrounded by water containing substantial amounts of oxidizer. Emulsion explosives can be pumped into holes in rock for blasting.
