DUSHANBE, July 2, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The 9th Kashgar Central & South Asia Commodity Fair is being held in Kashgar, an important ancient Silk Road town in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).
The four-day trade fair kicked off on June 30 and will run through July 3, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
The CCI press center reports that a Tajik economic delegation participating at the fair consists of senior representatives from the CCI as well as representatives of industrial enterprises and business structures.
The annual trade fair was first held in 2005, and has since become one of the most important international trade fairs held in Xinjiang.
Meanwhile, the first China Kashgar – Guangzhou Commodity Fair has been held as part of the 9th Central and South Asia Fair. The first phase of Guangzhou New Town opened for business on the first day of the fair and hundreds of domestic and overseas merchants have showcased their products.
