DUSHANBE, July 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – In Tajikistan, inflation for the first six months of this year has stood at 1.6 percent, according to Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
1.1 percent rise in prices of products of food industry has been reported in January-June and non-foodstuffs have risen in cost by 2.8 percent over the report period. Prices and rates for services rendered to the population have risen in cost by 2.0 percent over the first half-year of 2013.
In June, inflation stood at 0.1 percent. Last month, non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 1.5 percent, while prices of products of food industry and prices and rates for services rendered to the population fell 0.2 and 1.5 percent respectively.
The government expects the year-end inflation to stand at 9.0 percent in 2013.
Last year, inflation stood at 6.4 percent, 2.9 percent lower than in 2011
