DUSHANBE, July 25, 2013, Asia-Plus -- In Dushanbe, the price of one liter of 92-octane gasoline has fallen from 6.20 somoni at the beginning of the year to 5.80 somoni (nearly 6.0 percent decline), with similar price cuts in other parts of the country, the Antimonopoly Agency head, Hamdam Taghoymurodov, told journalists in Dushanbe on July 25.

According to him, prices for higher grades of gasoline have also decreased slightly over the first six months of this year.

In January-June this year, Tajikistan has reportedly imported more than 183,000 tons of oil products, with 33 percent (more than 60,000 tons) of them being gasoline.

“Kyrgyzstan (4 percent), Russia (little more than 40 percent), Turkmenistan (8.73 percent), and Kazakhstan (4.8 percent) now provide the bulk of Tajikistan’s gasoline imports,” Taghoymurodov said.

157 economic entities have reportedly delivered oil products to Tajikistan over the first six months of this year and the limited liability companies Gazpromneft-Tajikistan, Anahita, and Nouri Dilshod have dominated Tajikistan’s fuel market over the report period.
