DUSHANBE, October 1, 2013 Asia-Plus – Over the first nine months, Tajik farmers have gathered more than765,000 tons of cereals, which is 165,000 tons more than in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
An official source at a MoA says yield per hectare has risen by 0.33 ton this year – from 2.3 tons per hectare to 2.63 tons per hectare.
This year, Tajik grain growers have planted cereals on some 298,000 hectares, including 223,000 hectares sown with wheat.
Last year, Tajik grain growers reportedly produced 1.2 million of cereals, including 801,200 tons of wheat.
