DUSHANBE, October 4, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Over the past week, the dollar’s exchange rate has dropped inconsiderably in Tajikistan.
According to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the exchange rate of USD against the national currency, the somoni, at currency exchange office in Dushanbe has dropped from 1:4.883 on September 26 to 1:4.879.
Meanwhile the average exchange rates for transactions with the Russian ruble (RR) and the euro have remained unchanged – 1:0.15 and 1:6.4805 respectively.
Over the first six months of this year, the Tajik national currency, the somoni, has fallen only 0.003 percent against the dollar.
Last year, the somoni fell 0.1 percent against the dollar.
We will recall that in 2001, the somoni fell 8.1 percent against the dollar.
