DUSHANBE, October 30, Asia-Plus -- The government has named organizations that will be exempted from paying value added tax (VAT) and customs duties in 2014.
The government reportedly determined legal entities that will be exempted from paying VAT and customs duties on building materials, equipment, transportation facilities and fuels being delivered to the country.
The following legal entities are among them: Dushanbe mayor’s office – when delivering passenger transport; Hisor metallurgical works under construction – when delivering equipment; Tajik-Iranian joint venture, TojIron – when delivering spare parts for assembling tractors; companies constructing hotels at Roudaki and Ayni streets – when delivering building materials; and Barqi Tojik (the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan) – when delivering fuel oil for the Dushanbe combine heat and power (CHP) plant.
