DUSHANBE, January 17, 2014, Asia-Plus – Dushanbe International Airport (DIA) informs passengers about additional safety precautions for flights to Russia that have been introduced following the directive of Rosaviatsia (Russian civil aviation authorities).
The additional safety precautions were reportedly introduced on January 10 for the period of preparations for and holding of the 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi, Russia.
The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially the XXII Olympic Winter Games, or the 22nd Winter Olympics, are scheduled to take place from February 6-23 and the 2014 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the XI Paralympic Winter Games, will be held from March 7 to March 16.
According to a statement released by DIA, DIA aviation safety service will use necessary devices and equipment to check medicines, baby foods and other things that passengers will carry in their hand luggage.
Russian airports’ websites note that by the instruction of the Ministry of Transport of Russia additional safety precautions are introduced beginning on January 10, 2014.
